My name is Luke and I handle User Design Group's non-video projects. It is difficult to categorize the type of work I do, but it invariably involves a combination of information and graphic design. The best design - environmental, industrial, product, process - is about effective communication. An information and graphic design process guided by the needs and behaviors of users will yield results in the form of an application or website whose repeated use is incentivized through user satisfaction. Give people what they're looking for, and they'll return. I believe effective communication is the result of understand people and users; just as a well-crafted film is guided by the filmmaker's respect for the craft and the audience, a well-constructed website, application or video is the result of respect for the audience. Everything else is just scribbling and bibbling. After doing this for 5+ years I'm no longer interested in arbitrary redesigns or placing window dressing on fundamentally unweildy applications.
